The Armed Forces Covenant
A promise by the nation. The Covenant is a promise from the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served
in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. The regional Armed Forces Covenant was signed at the Fylde Council offices in St. Annes on 23rd June 2012. Read more about the Fylde Armed Forces Covenant.
Kirkham Covenant 2016
Community covenants complement, at a local level, the armed forces covenant, which outlines the moral obligation between the nation, the government and the armed forces. It encourages local communities to support the armed forces community in their area and promote understanding and awareness among the public of issues affecting the armed forces community.
The Kirkham Covenant 2016 aims to recognise the valued contribution that the armed forces bring to the Kirkham community. It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
